Split Bill Free is operated from India for users worldwide. This policy explains how information is handled when you use the website.

The calculator processes names, expenses, recorded payments and settlement results in your browser. It has no account system and does not send those details to an application server. Quick Split also calculates in your browser and does not save its inputs.

Temporary drafts

Added group members, expenses and recorded payments are automatically kept in this tab’s session storage, so switching calculators or reloading can restore them. Unfinished form entries are not included. These drafts are separate from optional device saving and are normally cleared when the tab’s session ends, although your browser’s session restore may retain them. Choose “Start a new group” to replace the draft with an empty group. Quick Split inputs are not stored.

Saving on this device

If you turn on “Save on this device,” your group is stored in this browser’s local storage. Anyone with access to this browser profile may be able to see it. Use “Forget saved data” to remove the saved device copy; the temporary draft remains in the open tab. Use “Start a new group” to clear that draft too. Clearing browser data can also remove it. Saving does not sync between devices.

Backups and sharing

Exported JSON backups contain participant names, expense amounts and recorded payment history. Keep them private. Imported backups are processed in the browser. Copying a summary places it on your clipboard; it is shared only when you choose to paste or send it.

Website requests

Loading the site requests its pages, scripts, styles and locally hosted font files from the website host. The host may receive standard connection information such as your IP address and requested pages. This website uses Google Analytics to measure aggregated website traffic and usage. It includes no advertising scripts, third-party marketing trackers or third-party fonts.

Color theme

The site follows your device’s light or dark appearance until you choose a theme. Your choice is saved in this browser, separately from your group, and applies across pages and open tabs. Clearing this site’s browser data resets the preference.

There are no automatic payments or shared editing links.

Contact emails

If you email us, your email address, message, and any attachments are handled through email providers rather than stored only in your browser. We use that information to respond to your enquiry and resolve the issue you raise. Please send only the information needed and avoid private group backups or payment credentials.

We retain correspondence as needed to handle the enquiry and any related record-keeping obligations. You can ask about or request deletion of information you sent by emailing [email protected]. Information that must be retained for legal obligations or resolving a dispute may need to be kept.

Your choices and privacy questions

You can edit or remove group entries, clear browser storage, and delete exported backups on your device. We cannot access or erase those local copies for you. For questions about information held outside your browser or privacy rights that apply to you, contact [email protected].
